Commercial Fleet Performance Systems

CFPS Silver Inspection

Commercial Fleet Performance Systems' primary inspection is the SafetyScan Silver inspection. Even though it is our "basic" inspection regimen, it is more comprehensive than any other inspection being performed today. SafetyScan Silver covers all the inspection elements required for the annual DOT Appendix G inspection, and adds the following elements:
  • CVSA-trained and CheckMark certified inspectors performing the inspections
  • Comprehensive check of the anti-lock braking system; measurements of brake lining, tire tread and brake stroke (all values recorded by the inspector); horn check
  • Full visual inspection of all hoses and lines (for chafing), glad hands, LED lights, power steering components, hub seals, emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, emergency triangles, reflective tape)
Just as important, SafetyScan records all the measurements taken by SafetyScan inspectors in the DMS. It provides a full inspection report for each vehicle inspected with Out Of Service and fleet failure items prominently called out, and with advisory messages relating to components approaching minimum acceptable standards for those components). Finally, each passed vehicle receives a SafetyScan Silver windshield decal, CheckMark- and CVSA-backed and valid for [90/120] days, to alert state roadside inspectors that the vehicle has met and passed Appendix G inspection requirements.

As part of a recommended periodic SafetyScan inspection program, the Silver inspection is invaluable in maintaining your fleet at peak safety and operational levels, and will reduce the number of roadside OOS violations, accidents and breakdowns your fleet will experience wherever it travels.
